How to Put Money on an Inmate’s Account at Leblanc Unit

TDCJ offers several ways to add money to an inmate's trust fund account. Your options include money orders or cashier's checks, Monthly Checking Account Debit (ACH), and third-party deposit services. For online or in-person cash deposits, the approved vendors are Access Corrections, ACE (America's Cash Express), eCommDirect (Texas.gov), JPay, and TouchPay. Each service has its own process, so follow the instructions for whichever method you choose.

  • Access Corrections (Secure Deposits) - follow the vendor’s deposit instructions for TDCJ inmate trust funds.
  • ACE (America’s Cash Express) - use the ACE process for TDCJ trust fund deposits.
  • eCommDirect (Texas.gov) - use the Texas.gov eCommDirect deposit option for TDCJ.
  • JPay - use JPay’s TDCJ trust fund deposit flow.
  • TouchPay Payment System - follow TouchPay’s instructions for depositing to a TDCJ inmate trust fund.

Prefer a traditional method? Money orders and cashier's checks work fine. Just follow TDCJ's instructions carefully so the deposit gets credited to the right account. You can also set up recurring deposits through Monthly Checking Account Debit (ACH). This requires an authorization form, and separate forms are available if you need to stop or change an existing ACH debit.

Before sending money, confirm you're eligible. Since September 1, 2020, TDCJ only accepts deposits from people on the inmate's approved visitor list or Inmate Telephone List. This restriction is a security measure designed to protect inmates and staff.

Warning: Do not mail trust fund deposits to the inmate’s assigned facility (including the Leblanc Unit). Trust fund deposits should not be sent to the facility of assignment.

  1. Confirm you’re an approved sender - you must be on the inmate’s approved visitor list or on the Inmate Telephone List to deposit money.
  2. Verify the inmate is at the Leblanc Unit before you travel - confirm the inmate is assigned to the unit and that visitation has not been canceled by calling the unit for final confirmation.
  • Bring photo identification (ID) for unit check-in.
  • Call the unit before you go to confirm the inmate is assigned there and that visitation has not been canceled.

Tip: If you’re unsure whether you’re an approved sender, whether your loved one is still assigned to the Leblanc Unit, or whether visitation has been canceled, call the unit before you travel.
