What to Wear (and What Not to Wear) When Visiting Lehigh County Jail

You'll pass through a metal detector before entering visitation. Your outfit and accessories can mean the difference between walking straight in and getting stuck at the front desk.

If the metal detector goes off, cooperate and help figure out what's triggering it. The Lobby Officer can ask you to remove any item causing the alarm - follow their directions if you want to continue with your visit.

Tip: Leave bulky metal accessories at home. Fewer triggers means a faster trip through screening.

Keep your outfit simple. Jeans or slacks are acceptable. Skirts and shorts are fine as long as they reach mid-thigh - anything shorter can get you turned away at check-in.
