There's a kiosk in the Detention Facility lobby that anyone can use for deposits. If you'd rather handle things in person, this is your on-site option.

You can also deposit to an inmate's canteen account online through JPay. This is often the easiest route - especially if you can't get to the lobby or you're sending funds from out of town.

Prefer to deposit by phone? Call JPay at 800-574-5729. This puts money on the inmate's canteen account, same as the online option.

Note: As of December 15, 2008, the facility no longer accepts inmate deposits through the visitation lobby or through the mail. Plan to use the lobby kiosk, JPay online, or JPay by phone instead.

Choosing between the three methods comes down to convenience. Use the lobby kiosk if you can get to the detention facility in person. Otherwise, JPay handles both online and phone deposits to canteen accounts.

One common mix-up: the inmate's canteen account and their phone service account are separate. JPay handles canteen deposits. For phone service funding, Leon County Jail directs you to Securus instead.

  • Confirm whether you’re funding the inmate’s canteen account (JPay online or JPay by phone, or the lobby kiosk) versus the inmate’s telephone account (Securus).
  • Ask about any fees before you submit the payment (online, by phone, or at the kiosk).
  • Double-check what payment types are accepted for the option you’re using.
  • Verify how long it typically takes for funds to show up on the inmate’s account.
