Before Your First Lobby Visit: What to Bring to Lewis County Jail

Before you make the trip, double-check the schedule. The Lewis County Jail lobby is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Plan your arrival within those hours.

Before Your First Lobby Visit: What to Bring to Lewis County Jail

Bring your ID - Lewis County Jail requires identification for all lobby visits. You'll be asked for it at check-in.

Arrive 5–10 minutes early. This gives you a buffer for check-in so you're not rushed at the front desk.

Plan ahead: You must create a HOMEWAV account before you visit. Approval can take up to 72 hours (not including weekends or holidays), so don’t wait until the day you want to come in.

Bringing kids? You'll need a different plan. No one under 18 is allowed in the jail lobby. Minors who want to visit will need to use remote video instead - either from a PC at home or through a phone app.

Treat the visit like it's on the record - because it is. All video visits are recorded, including those done from the jail lobby.

Stay calm and follow the dress expectations. If a video visitor - at home or in the lobby - is disruptive, acts inappropriately, or isn't properly dressed, staff can end the visit. Future visitation privileges may be revoked.

Not sure about check-in or timing? Contact the jail before you go - the lobby is only open Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For issues with video visitation or your account setup, reach out to HOMEWAV support.
