How the Free Weekly Lobby Visit Works — and What to Bring to Lewis County Jail
Visiting someone in jail can feel overwhelming the first time. Lewis County Jail offers a free weekly lobby visit—here's how it works and what to bring so you don't get turned away at check-in.
Since May 2022, every inmate at Lewis County Jail gets one free 15-minute lobby visit per week. It's first-come, first-serve - so show up with a plan and arrive on time.
Lobby stations are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. They're closed on holidays, even if the holiday falls on a weekday.
The free 15-minute visit is first-come, first-serve. Arrive early in the shift if you can - later in the day, you may find yourself waiting behind other visitors trying to use their free weekly slot.
ID Arrival Duration
- ✓ Bring your ID for check-in (ID is required for all lobby visits)
- ✓ Arrive 5–10 minutes early
The free lobby visit is 15 minutes. If you want more time, paid video visits run up to 20 minutes per session.
No one under 18 is allowed in the jail lobby. Minors can still visit - just from a PC at home or through the phone app instead.
All video visits are recorded - whether you're in the lobby or connecting from home. Plan your conversation accordingly.
Warning: If a video visitor is disruptive, acts inappropriately, or isn’t properly dressed, staff will stop the visit. Future visitation privileges may also be revoked.
Having trouble with the HomeWav system? Contact visitor support at 1-844-394-6639 - whether you're visiting from the lobby or from home.
HomeWav visitor support hours are Mon–Fri 7am–7pm CDT and Sat–Sun 8am–5pm CDT.
