Can you make it to the jail in person? Lewis County Jail offers one free 15-minute video visit in the lobby each week per inmate. It's first-come, first-served, so plan for extra time if other families are already waiting.

Prefer to visit from home? The jail offers web video visitation every day. This is the paid option, running on a set daily window with a last start time. Details below so you can pick a time that works.

Hours Last Start

  • ✓ Web video visits are available every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
  • ✓ The last web video visit begins at 9:40 PM.

Remote video visits cost $0.30 per minute. Have a credit or debit card ready before you start scheduling - especially if you're trying to grab a late-evening slot.

Lobby Rules

  • ✓ Bring a valid ID for any lobby visit.
  • ✓ Arrive 5–10 minutes early.

The free lobby option is limited to one 15-minute visit per inmate each week, first-come, first-served. This policy started in May 2022, so if you're used to older rules, this is how it works now.

Planning to visit with kids or teens? You'll need to do it remotely. Lewis County Jail doesn't allow anyone under 18 in the lobby for visits. Minors can visit through remote video on a PC at home or through a phone app.

Note: All video visits are recorded - lobby and remote. If a visitor is disruptive, acts inappropriately, or isn't properly dressed, staff can end the visit and revoke future visitation privileges.
