How to Set Up a TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (for Lewis Unit visitors)
To schedule a visit at the Lewis Unit, you need your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account. Staff can't set one up for you - registration is on you. Once you're in, you can book visits and track everything you've submitted.
- Enter a working email address - Use an email you can open right now (on your phone or computer). This is the email the system uses to reach you.
- Watch for the validation message - After you start registration, you’ll receive an email with a validation step (depending on the screen, that may be a code you enter or a link you click).
- Complete the validation to continue - Follow the email instructions to confirm your email and return to the scheduler to finish setup.
- Keep that email accessible for password resets - If you ever forget your password, you’ll enter your email and use the Forgot Password/Reset Password option; the system sends reset steps to that same email.
During registration, you'll answer a background questionnaire and create a password. Take your time with this. If you get locked out later, password recovery goes through your email - just click Forgot Password/Reset Password on the login screen, and the system will send you reset instructions.
Step3 Profile Phone Required
- ✓ Complete every required field marked with an asterisk (*) before you try to move forward.
- ✓ If you see red text saying your profile is incomplete, use the “Edit my Profile” option and fill in what’s missing.
- ✓ Enter your phone number exactly as: XXX XXX XXXX (spaces only - no dashes).
When adding the person you want to visit, you'll need their TDCJ or SID number - exactly 8 digits. Miss a digit or use the wrong format, and the search won't find them. Double-check all 8 digits before hitting submit.
Tip: Don't know the 8-digit TDCJ/SID number? Look it up on the TDCJ Offender Search before adding the inmate in the scheduler.
Troubleshooting
- ✓ If the system won’t accept your phone number, re-enter it as XXX XXX XXXX using spaces (no dashes).
- ✓ If you forgot your password, type your email on the login screen and click Forgot Password/Reset Password; follow the reset steps sent to your email.
- ✓ If you’re stuck waiting for someone to “make” your account, don’t - visitors must create their own scheduler accounts, and staff can’t create one for you.
Reminder: The TDCJ/SID number must be exactly 8 digits. Not sure of the number? Use the TDCJ Offender Search to find it before trying again.
