What Family Can Bring for Someone Newly Booked at Liberty County Jail (first 72 hours)

If your loved one was just booked into Liberty County Jail, you have a short window to bring in a small set of basic clothing items. The rules are specific, and the 72-hour cutoff matters.

Family and friends can bring underwear to an inmate at Liberty County Jail during the first 72 hours after booking. That three-day window is your chance to get them a few clean basics that meet the jail's rules. Once it closes, the drop-off option goes away.

Policies can change at the jail administrator's discretion. Before you make the trip, call and confirm that the current procedure matches what you're planning to bring.

Exactly What to Bring

  • Socks: up to 6 pairs
  • T-shirts: up to 6
  • Undershorts: up to 6 pairs
  • Quantity limit reminder: inmates are allowed only 6 of each of these items

For women, there's a different option in place of T-shirts. Women may have 3 bras instead, but they must be solid white and wireless.

All underwear brought in must be new, still sealed in the original package, and solid white. If the package is opened, the items are used, or the color isn't solid white, expect them to be refused.

After the first 72 hours, the rules change. Your loved one can purchase these clothing items through store call (commissary) instead of having them brought in from outside.

The same cap applies even for commissary purchases: inmates are allowed only 6 of each basic item. When they're released, they take the items with them.
