Using Vending Machines at Lieber: What Cards Work and Who to Call for Refunds
Using the vending machines during visitation at Lieber? Plan for card-only payment. Here's what works, what won't, and who to contact if a machine takes your money without giving you anything back.
As of July 1, 2024, the vending machines in visitation areas at Lieber Corrections Institute take debit and credit cards only. PayKeys are no longer accepted.
You can bring a debit or credit card into the facility specifically for vending machine purchases.
Accepted Cards
- ✓ Accepted: Visa
- ✓ Accepted: Mastercard
- ✓ Accepted: Discover
- ✓ Accepted: American Express
- ✓ Not accepted (and may not be brought into the institution): prepaid debit cards
Bring one debit or credit card per visiting group. The card must have your name printed on it, and that name needs to match your ID. Cards without a name on the front or cards in someone else's name won't work.
- Check the machine for the vendor sticker. Call the phone number posted on the vending machine to request help or a refund.
- Use the SCDC vending message line if needed. Leave a message at 803-400-8941.
