What to Bring to Visitation at Lieber: The One Credit-Card Rule and Accepted Cards
Vending at Lieber visitation is card-only, and you can only bring one card inside. Show up with the wrong type or too many, and you won't be able to buy anything during your visit.
Since July 1, 2024, the vending machines at Lieber Corrections Institution only accept debit and credit cards. No cash, no other payment methods. Plan to use a card for anything you want to buy during your visit.
PayKeys are no longer accepted at SCDC facilities, including Lieber. If you have questions about this change or run into a payment issue, leave a message at 803-400-8941 or email scdcvending@gmail.com.
Lieber's vending machines accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Before you leave home, confirm the card you're bringing is one of these and ready to use.
Heads up: Prepaid debit cards aren’t accepted for visitation vending and may not be brought into the institution.
Lieber enforces a one-card-per-group rule. Only one debit or credit card can come inside with your visiting group. If you're visiting with family or friends, decide beforehand whose card will be the designated vending card - extra cards won't be allowed in.
The card you bring must have your printed name on it, and that name has to match your photo ID. Do a quick check before you leave: make sure the card belongs to the person carrying it. This small step can save real frustration at the door.
