Since February 1, 2016, SCDC has banned all personal wireless devices from its institutions. This includes smartwatches and fitness trackers - not just phones. Anything that can send or receive a signal poses a security risk inside.
Tip: Leave smartwatches, fitness trackers, and any wireless devices at home or locked in your car. Bringing them to the entrance could get you stopped before you reach the visiting area.
SCDC went tobacco-free on January 1, 2008. At Lieber, tobacco and tobacco-related products aren't allowed in any buildings or anywhere on SCDC property. The ban covers paraphernalia and lighting devices too - lighters and matches included.
Reminder: This rule applies across SCDC property, including visitor areas - secure tobacco-related items in your personal vehicle before you go in.
Planning to use vending machines during your visit? The card rules are strict. Vending machines accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. Prepaid debit cards aren't accepted and can't be brought into the institution.

Note: These are SCDC rules that apply at Lieber. If you bring prohibited items, you can be denied entry and the items may be confiscated.
