Deposits to a CDOC inmate's trust account go through TouchPay (ConnectNetwork/GTL). When you make a payment, it's processed by TouchPay Holdings, LLC (doing business as GTL Financial Services) - they run the deposit system for Colorado facilities.

Timing matters. Money sent before 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time is usually available the next day. That said, CDOC recommends allowing 2–3 days after your deposit for funds to fully process. If your loved one is trying to order for a specific canteen day, send it a little early to avoid missing the window.

What Inmate Account Buys

  • Phone time
  • Stamps and writing materials
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Hygiene items

Here's something that catches a lot of families off guard: CDOC is required by law to withhold at least 20% of any deposit. That money goes toward court-ordered obligations - fines, fees, restitution, or child support. So if you deposit $100, expect at least $20 to be taken before the rest is available to spend.

Want to send a care package instead of (or in addition to) cash? Union Supply is the only approved care package provider for Colorado DOC. You can order monthly packages, up to the spend limits set for the inmate's facility and living unit.

For the smoothest timing, plan deposits a few days before your loved one needs to place a canteen order. Check the TouchPay/ConnectNetwork/GTL deposit service for available payment methods, fees, and the daily cutoff time - those details affect both cost and when funds actually hit the trust account.

Tip: Send money before the 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time cutoff, and give it 2–3 days to process so your loved one doesn't miss their canteen order window.
