How to Create and Manage Your TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (for Lindsey State Jail visitors)
Planning to visit someone at Lindsey State Jail? Setting up your TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account is the first step. Here's how to get it done—and avoid the most common setup headaches.
You need your own visitor account to schedule through the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler - unit staff can't create one for you. Once your account exists, staff can help update details like your name or address. But that initial setup? That's on you. Take a few minutes to do it right before trying to book a visit at Lindsey State Jail.
Head to https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action. First-time visitors should select the option to create an account and enter the email address you want to use. You'll receive an email with a link to continue registration and a 7-digit validation code. Enter that code to finish setting things up.
Next comes the Background Questionnaire. Answer every question - leave anything blank and the system won't let you move forward.
Warning: Choose your email address carefully. Once an account is created for an email address, the account can’t be deleted and the email address can’t be changed.
When entering your phone number, use this exact format: XXX XXX XXXX (with spaces, not dashes). Entering XXX-XXX-XXXX can cause the system to reject it.
Forgot your password? Click the Forgot Password/Reset Password link on the login screen. Enter your email address, and you'll get instructions to reset it.
Quick Checklist
- ✓ Use an email address you plan to keep long-term (the account can’t be deleted and the email can’t be changed)
- ✓ Enter your phone number as XXX XXX XXXX (spaces, no dashes)
- ✓ Set aside a few minutes to answer every Background Questionnaire question (you can’t continue if anything is left blank)
- ✓ Have the person’s TDCJ ID number handy if you plan to add them right after creating your account
