Scheduling an In-Person Visit at Livesay: Using the GTL Scheduler and the 15‑Hour Rule
Scheduling an in-person visit at Livesay comes down to timing. You'll book through the GTL scheduler, and you need to do it far enough ahead to avoid getting blocked by the 15-hour rule.
All in-person visits at Livesay must be scheduled at least 15 hours in advance through the GTL scheduler. The bottom line: don't wait until the night before (or the morning of) to try grabbing a spot. If there's even a chance you'll visit, get on the scheduler early. Otherwise you risk finding no available times, or having your visit rejected because it falls inside that 15-hour window.
S2
- ✓ Your GTL login details (set up your account ahead of time so you can schedule without rushing)
- ✓ The incarcerated person’s information as it appears in the scheduling system
- ✓ Your name exactly as it appears on your ID (and as it appears on any approved visitor list, if that applies to you)
- ✓ A preferred date and a couple of backup time options, since visits must be booked at least 15 hours ahead through the GTL scheduler
If something changes and you can't make it, cancel as soon as you know. Livesay requires cancellations at least 48 hours before the scheduled visit. Miss that window and skip the visit anyway? It still counts toward the incarcerated person's monthly visit total. That can sting, especially if you were saving visits for family travel, a special occasion, or a weekend when kids are free.
