Setting Up Virtual Visits for Livesay: Step-by-Step, Rules, and Costs
Virtual visits at Livesay are straightforward once you know the setup: you need to be on the approved visitor list, everyone joining needs their own account, and scheduling has a specific window. This guide walks you through the process so you can avoid common mistakes and keep your visit on track.
To request a virtual visit at Livesay, you must be on the inmate's approved visitation list. Not on the list yet? You'll need to get approved first. Start with SCDC Form 19-127 (
Tip: Be at your device 15 minutes before the visit starts so you're ready when the session begins.
Everyone joining the virtual visit needs their own account at scdoc.gtlvisitme.com/app. Even if you're sitting together in the same room, each person must have a separate account.
Check your device before scheduling. Virtual visits work on computers, tablets, and Android phones - but iPhones aren't compatible. Test your camera and microphone ahead of time. Plan to be set up 15 minutes early so you're not troubleshooting when the visit starts.
Scheduling has a strict window: at least three days in advance, but no more than seven days out.
Need to reschedule? You can modify your visit up to two days in advance. Cancellations must be made at least one day ahead.
Starting Feb. 1, 2025, virtual visits cost 16 cents per minute. A full 50-minute visit runs $8. Visits are scheduled in 50-minute slots, but you're billed for actual time used. End early, and you only pay for the minutes you connected.
All virtual visits are recorded and may be reviewed. If something inappropriate happens, the visit can be ended immediately. Consequences go beyond a dropped call. Rule violations can result in suspended virtual visitation privileges and disciplinary action.
