What You Can’t Bring to Livesay (and the One‑Time Restroom Rule During Visits)
Leave all wireless devices at home (or in your car) before entering Livesay. That includes cell phones, fitness trackers, and smartwatches. SCDC has banned personal wireless devices inside its institutions since February 1, 2016, and staff will not let you through with them.
All SCDC property has been tobacco-free since January 1, 2008. Tobacco products, smoking paraphernalia, and lighters are all contraband at Livesay. If it's used to smoke or light tobacco, leave it behind.
Restroom access during visits at Livesay is limited. You may use the visitation-room restroom one time during a two-hour visit. That's it. Use the restroom before your visit starts if you think you'll need to go more than once. After you've used your single restroom trip, expect to stay in the visiting area for the remainder of your time.
Visiting with a young child? Children age nine or younger must accompany you to the restroom. That single trip counts as the one-time restroom use for both of you.
