Who Can Visit an Inmate at Livesay and How Many People Can Come at Once
Visitation at Livesay comes down to two numbers: how many people can be on the approved list, and how many can visit at the same time. Here's how the limits work and what to do if you need to get added.
Each inmate at Livesay can have up to 15 approved visitors on their list. Not on it yet? The inmate needs to provide you with a "Request for Visiting Privileges" application (SCDC Form 19-127). You fill it out and submit it to get approved.
During an in-person visit, up to four visitors can see an inmate at a time. At least one of those visitors must be an adult, so a group of only minors won't be allowed in. A typical setup is two adults and two children, all counted within that four-person limit.
General population inmates at Livesay get four in-person visits per month. Keep that number in mind when you're coordinating time off work, travel, or splitting visit opportunities among family members.
There's also a weekend limit. Inmates can have one visit per weekend, and each weekend visit still counts toward the four monthly slots. So if you visit one weekend, that leaves fewer openings for the rest of the month.
Example: If four family members visit together in one session (the maximum group size), that only counts as one visit out of the inmate's four for the month.
- Ask the inmate for Form 19-127 (Request for Visiting Privileges). This form has to come from the inmate who wants you on their list.
- Fill out the form completely using your own information, the same way you would on any official application.
- Mail the completed form to the Division of Visitation so it can be processed.
