How to Send Mail to an Inmate at Livingston County Jail (and How to Appeal Rejections)

Sending electronic messages or photos? Livingston County Jail switched systems on September 1, 2023. It no longer uses Access Corrections - electronic communication now goes through the ICSolutions Bridge Tablet system at GettingOut.com. Like paper mail, electronic messages and photos get screened. Anything deemed inappropriate can be rejected.
Note: If physical mail, electronic mail, or photos you send are rejected or returned to you, you can appeal the rejection in writing. Your appeal must be labeled “Mail Appeal.”
How to File Appeal
- ✓ Write “Mail Appeal” on the envelope (if mailing) or in the email subject line (if emailing)
- ✓ Include your contact information
- ✓ Include the inmate’s name
- ✓ Describe the nature of the mail (for example: letter, electronic message, or photo)
- ✓ Explain why you believe the rejection was incorrect
You can submit your appeal by postal mail or email. For postal mail, address it to: Mail Appeal 150 S. Highlander Way Howell, MI 48843 For email, send it to lcsdcustomerservice@livgov.com with "Mail Appeal" in the subject line so it gets routed correctly.
Here’s a simple example you can copy and adjust: “Mail Appeal My name is [Your Name]. My contact information is [Phone/Email/Mailing Address]. I am appealing the rejection/return of mail sent to [Inmate Name]. The item was a [letter/electronic message/photo] sent on or around [date]. I believe it was rejected incorrectly because [brief explanation of why you believe it complies].”
A Jail Lieutenant reviews all mail appeals. Their decision is final - there's no second appeal.
