Sending Money to an Inmate at Lopez Unit: Deposit Methods, Fees, and Approved‑List Rules

Before you send anything, confirm you're eligible. Since September 1, 2020, deposits are only accepted if the sender appears on the inmate's approved visitor list or Inmate Telephone List. Not on either list? The deposit will be rejected. If you're unsure of your status, check first.

TDCJ handles online deposits and commissary purchases through eCommDirect on Texas.gov. You'll enter the offender number and name, confirm you've selected the right person, then add an amount and check out.

Fees depend on what you're doing at checkout. Online commissary purchases cost $3.75 per order. Online deposits run $2.50 plus 2.25% of the deposit amount. Doing both at once? The combined fee is $3.75 plus 2.25% of the deposit.

If you prefer to mail funds, you can send a money order or cashier’s check to the TDCJ Inmate Trust Fund at PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.

Don't mail a money order or cashier's check by itself. Every mailed deposit needs a completed deposit slip - without one, your deposit could be delayed or rejected.
