Visiting Hours, Remote Visits, and Scheduling at Lubbock County Detention Center

On-site visitation runs from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. That's a wide window - helpful if you're working around a job, school pickup, or a long drive. Just plan your arrival around check-in so you're not rushing.

Each inmate can have one adult visitor per visit. Up to two children can come along, but the adult must keep them under control. If you're bringing kids, plan ahead - you'll be managing the whole visit on your own.

Remote visits work differently. For inmates in general population housing, there's no limit on how many you can schedule - but you have to book them in advance through SmartInmate. Jail staff can't schedule these for you, and there's a fee involved. Set up your account and pick your time slot before the day you want to connect.

SmartInmate handles more than just visits. The facility uses Smart Communications (SmartInmate) MailGuard for electronic mail. You can send messages by creating an account at www.smartinmate.com.

Practical Planning

• ✓ Plan your visit within the on-site window: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
• ✓ Don’t cut it close - your last on-site visit has to be scheduled to start by 9:30 pm.

1. Use SmartInmate for remote visits - remote visits for general population inmates are unlimited, but you must schedule them in advance yourself (staff can’t do it for you).
2. Plan for the cost - remote visits have a fee, so be ready for charges when you book.
