When You Can Visit: Lubbock County Jail's Hours, Visitor Limits, and Cutoffs
Visiting someone at Lubbock County Detention Center goes smoother when you know the exact hours, group limits, and scheduling deadlines. Here's what you need to plan around to avoid a wasted trip.
Visitation runs daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. That's your window for planning, but pay attention to the last-start cutoff below - arrive too late and you won't get checked in.
Cutoff: The last visit must be scheduled to begin no later than 9:30 pm.
Visitors can see an inmate only once per day. If multiple family members want to visit, decide ahead of time who's going that day so you don't bump into the one-visit limit.
Only one adult visitor is allowed per visit, so plan on checking in alone. Anyone over 17 needs a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in.

Visiting someone in the Special Housing Unit works differently. Those visits must be scheduled by jail staff - you can't use the normal self-scheduling process.
