What Happens After You Submit a Misconduct Complaint to Macon County Sheriff’s Office

After the Sheriff receives your complaint, you should get confirmation that it arrived. This notice might come in writing or verbally. Keep in mind: this is just an acknowledgment of receipt. It won't tell you the outcome or how long the process will take.

Once your complaint lands, the Sheriff's Office conducts an internal investigation. They'll review your complaint and look into what happened through their own process.
