How to Send Money to Someone at David Wade (Using JPAY & Money Orders)
Want to help someone at David Wade cover commissary and daily expenses? You'll need to go through JPAY. Here are the two most common options—online deposits and mailed money orders—plus tips to avoid delays.
David Wade handles all deposits through JPAY, Louisiana's system for funding incarcerated people's accounts. You can't hand over cash during a visit - that's not allowed. To add money, you'll need to use one of JPAY's approved deposit methods.
Reminder: Don’t try to hand cash to your loved one during visitation. Use JPAY deposit options to get money onto their account.
JPAY offers several ways to deposit money. Prefer a paper trail? Mail in a money order. Need something faster? Deposit online or by phone. You can also use kiosks at the facility or make deposits at MoneyGram locations.
- ✓ Send a deposit by U.S. mail (money order)
- ✓ Deposit online through JPAY (internet)
- ✓ Deposit by telephone through JPAY
- ✓ Use JPAY kiosks at the correctional facility
- ✓ Use MoneyGram locations
Mailing a money order? Address it to: JPay, PO Box 531370, Miami Shores, FL 33153. Make it payable to "JPay" and keep it under $999.99. Get the payee wrong or go over the limit, and you'll hit delays.
- Fill out the money order - make it payable to JPay.
- Check the total - keep it at $999.99 or less per money order.
- Mail it to the JPAY lockbox - send it to JPay, PO Box 531370, Miami Shores, FL 33153.
Accuracy matters with mailed money orders. On the deposit slip, include the incarcerated person's full name and ID number. Add their name and ID to the money order's memo line too. You'll also need to provide your email address and mailing address - skip either one, and the deposit won't process.
Note: Don’t include letters or notes in the envelope with your money order - those will be discarded.
