Rayburn Correctional Center Visiting Guide: Hours, ID Rules, Arrival Deadline, and Search Policies
Visiting Rayburn Correctional Center goes smoothly when you plan around the posted hours, the 2:00 p.m. front-gate cutoff, and the facility's ID and search rules. Here's what to know before you make the drive.
On Thursdays, visiting hours run from 11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. That start time is later than the weekend schedule, so plan your travel accordingly.
Friday through Sunday, visiting hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. These are the longest days for visits, but they're also the busiest.
Arrival deadline: You must arrive at Rayburn’s front gate by 2:00 p.m. to be processed for visiting.
Before you go, confirm you're on the incarcerated person's approved visiting list. Rayburn only allows visits from people on that list. Show up without being listed, and your visit ends before it starts.
Adults 18 and older need photo identification. Rayburn requires approved adult visitors to present a photo ID before entering.
Children under 15 don't need ID, but they still must be on the visiting list. Any child visiting needs to come with an adult who can complete the check-in process with them.
Everyone entering the facility is subject to searches, including minors. This covers your person, your belongings, and your vehicle. Expect visual inspections and pat-down searches.
Rayburn also uses dogs trained to detect drugs, weapons, and contraband. If you're bringing anything with you, assume it could be checked.
Warning: Searches at Rayburn can include strip-searches and searches of body cavities.
