What You Can and Can't Bring to Manatee Jail Visitation: Complete Checklist

Allowed Items Infant Exceptions

  • Car keys
  • Wallet
  • One baby bottle
  • One diaper
  • Baby wipes
  • Blanket
  • Stroller or a hand-carried baby carrier

To enter the Visitation Center, you’ll need a valid (non-expired), government-issued photo ID that shows your date of birth. Manatee Jail accepts a Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID, or a Passport with a photo attached.

The dress code is enforced. Shoes and a shirt are required, and anything suggestive or revealing will get you turned away - that means see-through fabrics, halter or tube tops, short shorts, and mini-skirts. Appropriate underclothing is also required.

Reminder: All visits are monitored and may be recorded. If you check in after your scheduled start time, you won’t be allowed in and the visit is automatically canceled.

Plan your group size around the limits. Each inmate can have up to three visitors at once - children and infants count toward that total. Inmates get three one-hour visits per week, with no more than two in a single day. Want to see more than one person? You can visit up to two different inmates on the same day. You're also allowed to schedule back-to-back visits with the same inmate if you're making the most of a trip.

Minors can't visit alone. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who stays with them in the Visitation Center the entire time. If the visitor is under 18 and married to the inmate, they'll need to show a valid marriage certificate before the visit starts.
