How to Schedule and Prepare for Visits at Marathon County Jail

Quick Checklist

  • Plan around the limit: each inmate can have two on-site visits per week (the week starts on Sunday).
  • Book ahead: all visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Keep your group small: no more than three approved visitors are allowed per visit.

Only the person scheduled and approved can visit - no substitutes allowed.

Plan to arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled visit time so you have a buffer for check-in.

  1. Create your CIDNET account - Go to CIDNET and click “Create Account,” then follow the prompts to finish setting up your login.
  2. Register with the facility (for remote visits) - CIDNET Video Visitation allows you to schedule and participate in visits from home, but you’ll need an account and successful registration with the facility first.
  3. Start a new visit request - After you log in, from the main screen select “Videos,” then choose “New Schedule.”
  4. Choose the correct visit type - Select “Local” with the incarcerated person you want to schedule a Video CUE with.
  5. Pick the date, duration, and time slot - Select a date and duration, click “Next,” choose an available slot, then finish by completing the booking.

Tip: Double-check that you're fully registered and selected

Marathon County Jail only allows scheduled, approved visitors. If your name isn't on the visit, you can't swap in at the door. Plan your group size too - each visit is limited to three approved visitors maximum.

Bringing someone under 18? They can't visit alone. A parent or legal guardian must accompany them and stay for the entire visit.

If you were previously incarcerated, you typically can't visit until 60 days after your release. Immediate family members can request a waiver from a Jail Lieutenant.

Arrive 5–10 minutes early. That buffer matters - show up right at your start time and you might not make it through check-in.

  • Make sure you’re the person who is scheduled and approved for the visit; if you aren’t, you won’t be admitted.
  • Don’t plan on switching visitors last-minute - substitutes aren’t allowed.
  • Be prepared for the visit to be ended by staff if needed; visits can be terminated by Corrections Officers.

Even when you do everything right, visits can get disrupted. If your name isn't on the approved list, you'll be turned away. Corrections Officers can also end visits early, and visitation days or times may be cancelled without notice. When that happens, schedule a new time through CIDNET.

  1. Log back into CIDNET - Use the same account you used to schedule.
  2. Open the scheduling screen - From the main screen, select “Videos,” then “New Schedule.”
  3. Book a new slot - Choose “Local,” pick a new date and time, and complete the scheduling process.
