Marathon County Jail does allow visits. All visits are monitored, and visitation days and times can be canceled without notice, even if you already have something scheduled. Plan accordingly.

Professional visits (attorneys, clergy, and community corrections) follow different rules. These visits are first-come, first-served during non-lockdown times. Professional visitors must be pre-approved, have a professional visitor card on file with Jail Administration, and show valid ID. Attorneys can also arrange video visits by calling 715-261-1703.

  1. Create your Cidnet account - On the Cidnet site, choose “Create Account” and complete the signup.
  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions - You will need to accept Cidnet’s Terms and Conditions before you can participate.
  3. Register with Marathon County Jail in Cidnet - Registration is required for each facility that offers Cidnet video visitation.
  4. Start a new schedule - From the main screen of your account, select “Videos,” then “New Schedule.”
  5. Choose “Local” - Pick “Local” with the incarcerated person you want to schedule with.
  6. Finish the scheduling flow - Select a date and duration, click “Next,” choose your slot, then complete the request.

Reminder: Cidnet video visitation requires three things: an account, acceptance of Cidnet Terms and Conditions, and registration with each facility you want to visit.

Visitor Limits and Arrival

  • Schedule visits at least 24 hours in advance.
  • No more than 3 approved visitors are allowed per visit.
  • Only the person who is scheduled and approved for the visit is allowed to attend that visit.
  • Each inmate is allowed two on-site visits per week (the week starts on Sunday).

Arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled visit. That small buffer matters, since late arrivals can cost you the slot.

Bringing a child? Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who needs to stay with them throughout the entire visit.

If you were previously incarcerated, you'll need to wait 60 days after your release before visiting. Immediate family members who need to visit sooner can request a waiver from a Jail Lieutenant.

Cidnet video visitation runs in set windows. On Sundays, for example, available windows are 9:00AM to 10:40AM, 11:45AM to 4:45PM, and 6:30PM to 9:30PM.

Heads up: Visitation days and times can be canceled without notice, and a Corrections Officer may terminate a visit.

Troubleshooting and Help

  • Confirm you created your Cidnet account.
  • Make sure you accepted the Cidnet Terms and Conditions.

Attorneys can arrange video visits by calling 715-261-1703. For any visit type, arrive 5 to 10 minutes early so you're ready when your scheduled time starts.
