What to Bring (and Not Bring) to Marshall County Jail Visits
Marshall County Jail visits go smoothly when you show up prepared. Bring only what you truly need, expect searches, and leave extra items secured outside.
Expect screening when you arrive. Marshall County Jail may search all visitors and anything brought into the lobby or visitation area, including bags, backpacks, sacks, purses, and parcels. Refuse a search and you'll be turned away. The easiest move? Keep what you bring to an absolute minimum.
Reminder: You must be an approved visitor before you can visit. Once approved, you still need to request each visit at least 24 hours in advance. CIDNET is the preferred way to submit requests.
All on-site visits at Marshall County Jail are video visits. Contact (in-person physical) visitation is not allowed. Visiting hours run daily from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., though some time slots may be unavailable due to jail services like meal times, so build in flexibility. Each visit is limited to 30 minutes. If you're still waiting on visitor approval through the CIDNET portal, expect the response notification to take 3 to 5 business days.

- ✓ Packages or parcels (do not bring them into the jail building)
- ✓ Purses, bags, briefcases, and other extra items (leave them secured outside the jail)
When in doubt, leave it in the car. Anything you bring into the lobby or visitation area can be searched as a condition of visiting. That includes common personal items like bags and purses. The safest call is to bring as little as possible.
Do not touch the equipment: Don't adjust or tamper with lighting, air conditioning, the telephone/visitation system, glass, building features, or fixtures. You also cannot move between visiting booths or visit more than one inmate per visit.
Smoking is prohibited anywhere on Marshall County Sheriff's Office grounds. The Sheriff's Office is also not responsible for visitors' personal property. One more reason to keep valuables at home and leave extra items secured outside.
