How Visits Work at Martinez Detention Facility: Who Schedules, Visiting Hours, and the 30-Minute Rule
Visiting someone at Martinez Detention Facility is time-sensitive. Know who schedules visits, when the visiting blocks are, and how the 30-minute registration cutoffs work to avoid getting turned away at the door.
At Martinez Detention Facility, inmates schedule social visits. Visitors cannot schedule visits directly. If you want to visit, your loved one in custody needs to set it up on their end.
Up to four visitors can visit an inmate at one time. If more than four people want to come, plan to rotate visits rather than arriving as a larger group.
Martinez Detention Facility has set visiting blocks that repeat weekly. Monday through Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday: 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. only. Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Registration for scheduled visitors begins 30 minutes before the posted visiting time. Arriving right at the start time won't give you enough time for a smooth check-in.
All visitors must be scheduled and enter the facility no later than 30 minutes before the end of any visiting block. Show up too late and you'll be denied entry, even if time remains in the block.
There's also a paperwork step on the same clock. Your visit slip must be time stamped and in the tray 30 minutes before your visit. Plan your arrival so you have enough time to complete this step before your scheduled start.
Visits can end early or be revoked based on conduct. Any violation of laws, regulations, or procedures may result in termination, suspension, restriction, revocation, arrest, or denial of visiting. When in doubt, keep your conduct and appearance conservative so the focus stays on the visit itself.
Note: The Facility Commander may exclude visitors from visiting activities because of prior misconduct. Past issues can affect future visitation.
Expect monitoring in visitation areas. The Office of the Sheriff may use video-recording devices, except in areas where confidential attorney consultations occur.
Visiting privileges are suspended only by order of the Facility Commander, unless the suspension is part of a formal disciplinary proceeding.
Once a suspension is issued, the Classification Unit is notified. The restriction is documented and communicated through the facility's internal process.
