How to View Court Documents (Not Just Case Summaries) on Matagorda County's Site
If you're only seeing a case summary, you're one click away from the actual filed documents. On Matagorda County's public access site, the path goes: Search Results → Case Information → Register of Actions → Documents.
On Matagorda County's site,
- Run your search - enter the search details and submit the search to get to the Search Results screen.
- Click the case number hyperlink - on the Search Results screen, select the case number link on the left side to open the case information.
Tip: Use the black header links to move around after you’ve searched: Logout, Search Menu, New Search, Back, and Help (Help opens the Public Access Help dialog).
On the Register of Actions screen, look for the case number hyperlink at the top of the page. Click it - that's what opens the actual documents. Stuck on a summary-style view? This is usually the missing step. Documents are accessed from the Register of Actions, not directly from Search Results.
Troubleshoot-missing

- ✓ Use Back to return to the prior screen and try the case number hyperlink again
- ✓ Open Help (it launches the Public Access Help dialog) to confirm you’re following the same navigation the portal expects
- ✓ If you don’t see a document after reaching the Register of Actions, it may simply not be available through that register for the case you’re viewing
