Each money order is capped at $999.99 per deposit slip. Sending more? Break it into separate money orders, each under the maximum.

Before sealing the envelope, double-check the incarcerated person's name and DC number on the deposit slip. If your contact details aren't complete - especially your email and mailing address - JPay won't process the money order, which means a longer wait while the issue gets sorted out.

Once JPay receives your money order, approved payments process within ten (10) business days. That clock starts when it arrives at JPay, not when you mail it - so factor in postal delivery time.

If the funds don't show up, check the most common paperwork problems first. JPay won't process a money order without a valid email address and mailing address on the deposit form. Missing or incorrect details can get your payment kicked back instead of posted.
