How to Get Approved to Visit Someone at MCI Norfolk

You can't just show up and get in. Every visitor must be on the inmate's pre-approved list before stepping foot in the visiting room. Approval starts with paperwork, not at the door. Your loved one plays a role too, since their visiting list tells the institution who's allowed to see them.

Start by downloading the Visitor Application Form from the Massachusetts prison visiting guidance on Mass.gov. Fill it out completely and accurately. This is what the institution uses to decide whether to add you to the visiting list. Once you've completed the form, mail it to MCI Norfolk.

Mail your completed Visitor Application to the correct address for the facility. You'll find mailing addresses on the third page of the application and on the Prison Locations Page. Double-check that the institution name matches the address you're using. Sending it to the wrong location can delay your approval.

After the institution receives your application, they'll process it and notify both you and the inmate of the decision. Until you're approved, don't try to schedule or show up for a visit. Pre-approval is the first step.
