How to Schedule and Plan Your First In-Person Visit at McNaughton Correctional Center
Planning your first visit to McNaughton Correctional Center? You'll have a much smoother experience if you understand the schedule, book the right time slot, and show up with proper ID and only the items you're allowed to bring.
Visiting hours at MCC are Fridays from 6:00pm–9:00pm. Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays have two blocks: 8:30am–11:30am and 12:30pm–3:30pm. Here's the catch - you're limited to one visiting block per weekend, and MCC counts Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and any Holiday as part of that same weekend.
One block per weekend: Pick a single time slot across Friday–Sunday (plus any Holiday). Book Saturday morning? You can't also grab an afternoon slot that same weekend.
Before booking anything, confirm you're on the incarcerated person's approved visiting list. MCC only allows visitors who've been pre-approved.
Anyone 16 or older needs photo identification to enter. Bring it to check-in - no ID typically means no visit.
- ✓ Valid state driver’s license
- ✓ Valid passport or visa
- ✓ Valid Department of Transportation (DMV) photo ID
- ✓ Valid military identification card
- ✓ Valid tribal photo ID
Every in-person visit at McNaughton Correctional Center must be scheduled through ICSolutions. Show up without a booking and you'll be turned away.
When booking through ICSolutions, the key requirement is that you're already approved to visit. MCC only permits visitors on the inmate's approved list, so make sure the name on your booking matches exactly.
Thinking about video visits instead? The basics are the same: you need to be on the DOC approved visitor list, create an ICSolutions account, and schedule through ICSolutions. Different visit type, same approval requirement.
- Park in the Visitors Parking Area - this is where your visit starts.
- Go to the Control Center to register - all visitors must register there before entering.
- Have your items inspected - the sergeant must inspect anything you bring into the Center.
After you register, you can't go back to your car without the sergeant's permission. Double-check that you have everything - especially your ID - before you head inside.
You'll pass through a metal detector before entering the visiting room. MCC is strict here: if you can't clear it within three tries, you won't be allowed in.
- ✓ Skip metal jewelry when you can
- ✓ Avoid clothing with metal buckles or snaps
- ✓ Don’t wear bib overalls (or other outfits with lots of metal)
Travel light. Personal property isn't allowed inside - that includes cell phones, pagers, PDAs, electronic devices, and cameras. The only exceptions: baby supplies and up to $25 per person in cash for vending machines.
Leave the visiting area and you're done for the day - no re-entry allowed. Handle anything you need (including grabbing items from the car) before you go in.
Physical contact is limited. A brief hug and kiss at hello and goodbye are allowed - everything else during the visit is off-limits.
Bathrooms are separated. Visitors use designated visitor bathrooms; inmates use designated inmate bathrooms and need staff permission to go.
