How to Send Mail to Someone at Medina County Jail (new Digital Mail Center process)

As of July 15, 2024, Medina County no longer accepts personal mail sent directly to the jail. All personal letters must go through the Digital Mail Center (DMC) instead. Send it the old way, and it'll likely be delayed or returned.

Address your envelope to the Securus Digital Mail Center. Include the incarcerated person's full name and ID number - both are required. Here's the format: Incarcerated Name & ID # Medina, OH C/O Securus DMC PO BOX 21768 Tampa, FL 33622

When your letter arrives at the Securus Digital Mail Center, staff check it against Medina County's requirements. If it passes, they scan it and upload the digital copy. The person you're writing to can then view it through the eMessaging or DMC apps on facility tablets or kiosks.

Note: Mail that doesn't meet requirements gets returned. Medina County may have additional rules beyond the standard DMC guidelines, so call the facility if you're unsure whether something will be accepted.

Accepted Prohibited

  • Pictures and drawings (as long as they meet requirements and are paper-sized at 8.5 x 11 inches or smaller)
  • Paper items that are 8.5 x 11 inches or smaller
  • Anything larger than 8.5 x 11 inches (pictures, drawings, or other paper) - not accepted for scanning
  • Non-paper items - not accepted for scanning
  • Packages - not accepted; returned to sender
  • Certified mail - not accepted; returned to sender
  • Checks - not accepted; returned to sender
  • Money orders - not accepted; returned to sender

Size limit: The DMC only scans paper items. Photos, drawings, or any paper larger than 8.5 x 11 inches won't be processed.

The DMC doesn't keep your original letter forever. Physical mail is discarded 90 days after scanning and upload.

Legal mail warning: Attorneys and anyone sending legal correspondence should not use the Securus DMC PO Box. Legal mail sent there will be opened and processed like regular mail. Legal communications must go through the facility's separate process.
