How to Create a TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (Memorial Unit)

You must create your TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account yourself - staff can't do it for you. They may help with updates later, like correcting information, but the initial setup is on you. You'll need your own email address to complete it.

Head to the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler login page: https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action. From there, select the option to create a new account.

How to Create a TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (Memorial Unit)
  1. Open the scheduler and choose “Create an Account” - this is the first-time registration option on the login screen.
  2. Enter your email address and submit it - use a valid email you can access right away; the system will send you a message to continue registration.
  3. Find the registration email and open it - it includes a link and a 7-digit validation code you’ll need for the next screen.
  4. Click the link and re-enter your details - back in the scheduler, type your email address again and enter the 7-digit key from the email.
  5. Create and confirm your password - make a password that meets all listed requirements on the page, then re-type it to confirm and submit.

Tip: If you don’t see the validation email, check your spam or junk folder before you request another one.

Once your password is accepted, you'll land on the Background Questionnaire. Answer every question - the system won't let you proceed if you leave anything blank.

Next comes your Visitor Profile. Fill out all required fields (marked with an asterisk). Pay close attention to your phone number - TDCJ requires this exact format: XXX XXX XXXX, with spaces instead of dashes. If you enter dashes (like 555-123-4567), your profile may not save correctly.

  1. Go to your Home/Profile page and click “Add Inmate” - this is the button you use to attach the person you want to visit to your account.
  2. Search using their TDCJ number or SID number - the system searches by number, not by name.
  3. Enter the number as 8 digits - the inmate’s TDCJ or SID number must be 8 digits long.
  4. Confirm you found the right person and choose your relationship - use the relationship dropdown shown in the search window to finish the add-inmate request.

Troubleshoot

  • ✓ Check your spam/junk folder for the registration email with the 7-digit validation code and link.
  • ✓ Re-enter your phone number as XXX XXX XXXX (spaces only, no dashes).
  • ✓ Go back and answer every Background Questionnaire question - leaving even one blank can stop you from moving to the next step.
