How to Register Your Phone and What to Know About Inmate Calls at Memorial Unit

To receive calls from someone at Memorial Unit, you need to register your phone number through the Texas Inmate Telephone Friends & Family Enrollment. Have the inmate's TDCJ ID number ready - registration won't work without it. That ID is what links your number to the right person.

1. Get the inmate’s TDCJ ID number - you’ll need it to register your number to receive calls.
2. Go to the Texas Inmate Telephone Friends & Family Enrollment - this is the online enrollment used to register your telephone number for TDCJ inmate calls.
3. Complete the enrollment for your phone number - follow the prompts and enter the information requested so your number can be approved to receive calls.

Allowed Numbers

• ✓ Allowed: home landline telephone numbers
• ✓ Allowed: post-paid cell phones
• ✓ Allowed: pre-paid cell phones
• ✓ Not allowed: internet services
• ✓ Not allowed: 800 numbers
• ✓ Not allowed: businesses
• ✓ Not allowed: pay phones
• ✓ Not allowed: international numbers

A common reason numbers get rejected: name mismatch. The name on your driver license or state ID must match what's on the telephone listing or bill for that phone number.

Calls can be placed between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. Each call is limited to 30 minutes. You'll hear a one-minute warning before the system disconnects - so start wrapping up when you hear that prompt.
