Common Questions

What visit types can I schedule at Memorial Unit?

You can schedule Regular, Contact, and Video/Tablet visits through the Memorial Unit scheduler. Video/Tablet visits are not the Securus video program, and availability depends on the inmate’s privileges and unit setup.

Why doesn't a particular date appear when I try to schedule a visit?

If someone already has a visit scheduled that week, the scheduler hides those dates. Not every visit type or date shows up for every inmate—it depends on their privileges and the facility schedule.

What happens after I request a visitor–inmate relationship at Memorial Unit?

After you request the relationship, it stays Pending on your visitor home page until TDCJ staff review it. Once approved, it moves to Verified Inmate Relations and you can schedule if the Schedule Visit button is available; if privileges are removed, you’ll see “Not Approved for Visits”.
