Michael Unit holds in-person visits on Saturdays and Sundays, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each visit lasts two hours, starting once both the inmate and all visitors are present. How often someone can receive contact visits depends on custody level: G1, J1, and J2 inmates get one contact visit per week, while some G2, G3, P2, P3, P6, and P7 inmates with SAT 4 or higher may receive three per month. You'll need to be on the inmate's Visitors List (up to 10 names). If you're 18 or older, bring a current government-issued photo ID. Michael Unit offers remote video visits through Securus. Sessions are scheduled online, last up to 60 minutes, and each inmate is limited to one remote video visit per month. Securus charges $10.00 per session, and you'll follow the vendor's scheduling and payment steps. For phone calls, you need to register your telephone number and provide the inmate's TDCJ ID. Registration requires you to be the phone's registered owner, be at least 18, and agree to call-use restrictions.
