How to Schedule Your First On-Site Video Visit at Middle River Regional Jail
On-site video visits at Middle River Regional Jail are straightforward once you understand the schedule. Know the hours, book at least 24 hours ahead, and arrive ready for your 15-minute session.
Every inmate at Middle River Regional Jail gets one free 15-minute on-site video visit per week. They also receive one free remote video visit, a free phone call, and two free message credits weekly. These credits reset each Saturday and don't roll over - use them or lose them.
Monday through Friday, on-site video visits run during three time blocks: 8:30am–10:30am, 1:30pm–3:45pm, and 7:00pm–8:30pm. Pick a window that works reliably for your schedule - these are your options.
Saturdays and Sundays offer two time blocks: 8:30am–10:30am and 1:30pm–3:45pm. No evening sessions on weekends. If that's your only availability, plan for morning or afternoon.
You'll need to schedule at least 24 hours in advance. When picking your day and time, count back a full day to avoid booking inside that minimum notice window.
Note: Even though the system aims to make scheduling easier, visits still require 24 hours notice. And remember - free on-site visits are limited to one per inmate each week.
Each visit lasts 15 minutes. That time goes fast. Check in early so you're not spending precious minutes sorting out entry issues.
- Arrive early enough to get processed - all visitors are subject to search, and check-in can take time.
- Leave personal items in your vehicle - handbags, purses, backpacks, umbrellas, cell phones, cameras, and other personal items must be left in the car.
- Keep your phone out of the building - cell phones aren’t allowed for visitors, so don’t bring one inside even “just to be safe.”
- Follow staff directions so your visit starts on time - your visit is only 15 minutes, and being ready at your scheduled start matters.
