Visiting at Middlesex Jail & House of Correction follows a structured process, so plan ahead. Each visit lasts 45 minutes and allows two adults plus up to four children. Every adult must show a valid, government-issued photo ID. Bringing someone under 18? A parent or guardian needs to present the child's birth certificate. Processing is first-come, first-served—it opens 30 minutes before the session and stops 15 minutes before start time. Arrive early. Confirm any pre-approval requirements and scheduling rules before you go to avoid getting turned away.

Communication at Middlesex Jail & House of Correction works through outgoing phone calls placed by incarcerated people after they've been assigned housing. You can't call into the facility to reach someone, and staff won't pass along personal messages. All calls are recorded and monitored. The facility uses Securus Technologies for phone service. Securus also offers video visitation, available since April 15, 2021 as a supplement to in-person visits. Video visits follow the same security and monitoring policies as regular visitation. To receive calls or book a video visit, set up an account with Securus and complete any required pre-approval to get on the person's approved list. Personal mail at Middlesex Jail & House of Correction goes through Securus Technologies' digital mail program (effective August 1, 2024). Securus receives your letters, opens and scans them, then delivers a digital copy to the facility. Originals are kept for 60 days before being destroyed—include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want yours returned. Address mail to the inmate's full name (add the ID number if you have it) and send to: Securus Digital Mail Center - Middlesex, PO Box 25555, Tampa, FL 33622. Handwrite your return address in the top-left corner and skip extra markings. Don't send stamps, blank paper, Polaroids, stickers, catalogs, or glued items. Legal mail and publications from publishers or authorized retailers still go through regular postal processing. Starting January 2, 2025, attorneys must use the ACN process.

Middlesex Jail & House of Correction offers three ways to deposit money: at the Visitor Center kiosk (6 a.m.–10 p.m.), online through Access Corrections, or by phone at 866-345-1884. MasterCard is accepted for deposits. You can also order commissary packages through the Middlesex Packages web page or by calling 800-546-6283 during the vendor's posted hours. Need a refund for leftover funds after someone leaves? Call 978-667-1711 and ask for the Canteen Department. Provide a mailing address, and they'll send a check—no in-person pickup. Always double-check the person's name and commitment/register number when depositing or ordering so funds credit correctly.
