One Visit Per Weekend at Middleton Unit: How to Coordinate with Other Visitors

Each inmate at Middleton Unit gets one visit per weekend - that's it. If another approved visitor claims that slot first, you'll be turned away when you arrive. The fix is simple: coordinate ahead of time. Talk to the other people on the Visitors List and check with the inmate so everyone knows who's visiting that weekend.

The Online Visitation Scheduler makes this rule easy to miss. If someone already booked a visit for a given week, those dates simply won't appear as options - no explanation, they're just gone. And when you do find an available date, you still need to click "Review Available Times" to see actual time slots. Skip that step and you're not really seeing what's open.

Practical Coordination and Fallbacks

  • Decide with the other approved visitors which weekend you’re using, since the inmate only gets one visit per weekend.
  • Confirm with the inmate (and the rest of the Visitors List, if you can) who is “claiming” that weekend slot so nobody makes the trip only to be declined.
  • In the Online Visitation Scheduler, remember that dates won’t appear for any week where a visit is already scheduled.
  • After you pick a date, click “Review Available Times” to see the available time slots for that visit type on that date.
  1. Look at the Schedule Visit button - if it’s blank or shows “Call Unit,” the scheduler isn’t letting you book online.
  2. Call the inmate’s unit of assignment - schedule the visit by phone when the system directs you to “Call Unit.”

Note: If coordination falls apart and the scheduler won't let you book (blank button or "Call Unit" message), call the unit directly. Better to find out now than show up expecting a visit that can't happen. Make sure everyone agrees on who's using the weekend slot before anyone hits the road.
