Why Midland County Jail stopped accepting money orders — and how to deposit money now
If you've always sent a money order to help someone at Midland County Jail, that option is gone. Here's what the jail accepts now and how to make sure your deposit actually gets there.
Midland County Jail no longer accepts money orders or cashier's checks. Mail one in, and it won't be processed. You'll need to use one of the approved deposit methods instead.
Midland County accepts deposits three ways: at the facility lobby kiosk (cash or card), online through TouchPay, or by phone at 866-232-1899. Need to add funds quickly from home? The phone and online options work well. Already heading to the facility? Use the kiosk while you're there.
Fees: TouchPay charges a base transaction fee that varies by deposit amount. Credit and debit card transactions add 7.5% on top.
The kiosk is available during normal lobby hours at the Central Detention Facility. Those hours can shift due to staffing, holidays, or other changes - so if you're making a special trip just to deposit money, give yourself some extra time.
The deposit kiosk is in the Bonding area. Not sure where that is? Ask staff when you arrive - especially if you're trying to make a quick deposit and go.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Don’t mail cash, money orders, or cashier’s checks for deposits - Midland County Jail no longer accepts them.
- ✓ Use one of the approved options instead: the lobby kiosk during normal lobby hours at the Central Detention Facility, TouchPay online, or TouchPay by phone.
- ✓ When you make a deposit (kiosk, online, or phone), have the inmate’s identifying information ready so the funds post to the correct person.
- ✓ When you send personal mail, include the inmate’s full name and ID; Midland County routes personal mail through the Securus Digital Mail Center (PO BOX 21227, Tampa, FL 33622).
