How to Add or Cancel Visitors to a Scheduled Visit at Mitchell County Jail
Already have a visit scheduled? You can usually adjust it without starting from scratch. Just make sure anyone you're adding is already approved, and handle changes before the cutoff times.
Before adding someone to a scheduled visit - or making any other changes - you need to be an approved visitor yourself. This means filling out and submitting the Visitation Request Form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Once you're on the approved list, scheduling and modifying visits gets much easier. You won't hit a wall when trying to add names.
Note: You must be on an offender’s approved visitor list to use any payment method to send money to that offender.
- Use the “Add Visitor” link - If you already have a scheduled visit, use the “Add Visitor” option to find that scheduled visit and add additional visitors.
Reminder: Anyone you add to the visit needs to already be approved by submitting the Visitation Request Form to the facility.
- Use the “Cancel my visit” link - Find your scheduled visitation and cancel the appointment from there.
Timing Communication
- ✓ For weekend visit requests, the cutoff time to request visitation is 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.
- ✓ For state holiday visit requests, the cutoff time to request visitation is 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.
Plans change. When they do, cancel as soon as possible - don't wait until you're scrambling near the cutoff. It also helps to let your loved one know you won't make it. Missed visits can be confusing on their end, especially if they've been counting down the days.
