Scheduling a Visit at Mitchell County Jail: Deadline Rules You Must Know

To request a scheduled visit, you’ll need to submit your request through the Department’s visitation request form. That form is where you enter the visitor and incarcerated person details and get your request in the system - so the deadline rules below matter most when you’re deciding when to submit it.

Weekend visit requests must be in by 5:00 PM on Wednesday. Wait until Thursday or Friday? You've already missed the window. If you're juggling work schedules, childcare, or travel, plan around that Wednesday deadline - not around it.

Holiday visits have a different deadline: 5:00 PM three days before the holiday. That's earlier than most people expect. If you're thinking "I'll do it the day before," you're already too late. Check the calendar and submit as soon as you know you want that slot.

Gather your information before you start the form. You'll need details about the incarcerated person (including their GDC ID) and your own info: name, email, relationship, date of birth, and phone number. The form also asks you to select an ID type, so know what you're using before you begin.

• ✓ Your full name and contact info (email address and telephone number)
• ✓ Your relationship to the incarcerated person
• ✓ Your date of birth
• ✓ Your ID type selection (Driver’s License, State ID, or None)
• ✓ If you plan to choose Driver’s License or State ID, confirm you’re at least 18 (the form requires you to be 18+ to select those options)

Already missed the cutoff? Don't keep resubmitting the same request. Call the facility instead. Ask about the next available visit date and whether there are any alternatives in the meantime.
