Check the posted schedule before you come—Wednesdays have no family visiting. Each inmate can receive up to two visits per week, typically 40 minutes each, though staff can shorten visits and schedules can change without notice. Up to four visitors may sign in together for each visit. Arrive on time: late arrivals won't be allowed in until the next visiting period. You'll go through screening for contraband—both you and your belongings will be checked. Failing the metal detector or screening can mean denied entry or an ended visit. Skip suggestive, revealing, or identity-concealing clothing. Visitors under 18 must be relatives and accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or another responsible adult as determined by staff.

Phone and video contact at Montgomery County Facility follows clear rules. All outgoing inmate calls are recorded and may be monitored—inmates use collect-only phones with no incoming calls. For video visits, the facility uses ICSolutions. You'll need to be 18 or older and create an account at www.icsolutions.com to schedule. Each session lasts 25 minutes. On-site kiosks are free, or you can schedule an at-home video visit for $7.50 (paid by the visitor). ICSolutions offers prepaid account setup guidance, including mailing cashier's checks or money orders, plus a toll-free operator option for credit-card payments and help. Create your account ahead of time and log in before your scheduled visit using the vendor's app or recommended device.

Send all inmate mail to Montgomery County Correctional Facility, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD. Include the inmate's full legal name and ID number so it doesn't get delayed or returned. The facility photocopies certain incoming mail, including photographs, and delivers the copies to the inmate while holding originals for 60 days. Photos must be mailed in a plain white envelope with a clear return address and can't exceed standard 4x6 size. If even one photo in your mailing violates policy, all photos from that mailing get returned—and third-party photo vendor print orders aren't accepted. An outside party can pick up retained originals Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm with valid government ID. Unclaimed originals are destroyed after 60 days. Inmates are limited to seven items of reading material; extras may be confiscated as contraband.

Montgomery County Facility lets you support an incarcerated person through commissary orders and account deposits. Place commissary orders online at montgomerypackages.com or by phone—family orders are limited to $25 per week. For money deposits, the Secure Deposit Kiosk in the facility lobby accepts cash or card and posts funds immediately. Internet or phone deposits may take up to 10 minutes to post. There's a $300 maximum per single deposit transaction. Inmates requesting money releases to outside parties will have requests processed on the 15th and 30th of each month. Any remaining canteen/commissary funds are returned on the day of release.
