Starting October 1, 2024, personal mail sent through USPS must go to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Duval processing center at P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Include the inmate's name and their 10-digit booking number on the address. Missing this info can delay or get your letter rejected.

Mailing address (effective Oct. 1, 2024): Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office - Duval processing center, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Include the inmate’s name and 10-digit booking number.

Legal mail doesn't go through the new processing center. Send it directly to the facility where the inmate is housed.

A few other items skip the processing center too. Magazine subscriptions, newspapers, periodicals, and paperback books should be mailed directly to the facility (not the Phoenix, Maryland P.O. Box).

Keep packaging simple. Boxes won't be accepted, and envelopes can't be larger than 8 ½" x 11". If an envelope looks altered, it gets returned to you.
