Before Your First Visit to Morehouse Parish Jail: What to Bring and What to Leave in Your Car
Your first visit goes smoother when you show up with the right ID and nothing extra. Use this checklist to avoid getting delayed or turned away at Morehouse Parish Jail.
Before you drive over, make sure you're eligible to visit. You must be on the imprisoned person's approved visiting list - if you're not sure, confirm with them before you go. Visitation can be restricted or suspended for security reasons, so if you're traveling from out of town or on a tight schedule, call ahead to confirm visits are still happening.
If you're 18 or older, bring a photo ID every time - no exceptions. Accepted forms include a valid state driver's license, a valid state photo ID card, an active-duty military photo ID, or a valid passport. Forget your ID or bring something else? You'll lose the visit. Double-check before you leave the house.

- ✓ Cameras

Note: Visitation can be restricted or suspended for security reasons. Showing up with prohibited items can end your visit before it starts.
Need medication during the visit? Keep it simple and tell staff up front. Only prescribed medication that is life-saving or life-sustaining is allowed - things like nitroglycerine pills, inhalers, or oxygen. Bring only what you'll need for the visit, and declare it at the visiting desk when you arrive.

- ✓ Up to two jars of vacuum-sealed baby food
- ✓ Up to two plastic bottles of milk or juice
- ✓ One change of clothing
- ✓ One baby blanket (no larger than 48 inches)

During contact visits, keep physical contact brief and appropriate. A short hug and brief kiss are allowed at the beginning and end of the visit. Holding hands is fine during the visit.
