Visitation at Morehouse Detention Center, LA

How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements

Overview

Before you visit Morehouse Parish Jail, make sure you're on the incarcerated person's approved visiting list—otherwise you won't get in unless the warden grants advance approval for a special visit. Visitation runs Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Staff won't admit anyone between 11:00–11:30 a.m., and visits can't start after 3:00 p.m. Space is limited: only six visitors can be in the visiting room at once, and approved visitors get two visits per month. Bring photo ID—visitors 15 and older need a picture ID, and those 18 and older must show it every visit. Expect metal-detector screening and possible searches. Leave your phone and any recording devices behind. Only limited small items and declared prescribed life-saving medication are allowed inside.
