What to Bring (and Leave) for a Visit at Morgan County Correctional Complex — Checklist

Keep it simple at Morgan County Correctional Complex: you may bring only your photo ID and car keys (or key fob) into the visitation area. Everything else stays behind. Plan your pockets and bag situation before you walk up to check-in.

Bringing a minor? Children under 18 may visit only if accompanied by their parent, legal guardian, or a guardian on the inmate's approved visiting list. Kids under 16 don't need to present ID at the door - but the facility must have a copy of the child's birth certificate and a completed CR-2152 with a recent photo on file.

Expect a full security process when you arrive. All visitors go through multiple screenings, including a body scanner, before entering the visitation area.

Leave in Car

  • Phone
  • Smart watch
  • Wallet
  • Any other personal items (beyond your photo ID and car keys/key fob)

Heads up: Vehicle searches may be routinely conducted on state property.

Visiting with a baby? A small set of supplies is allowed - diapers, formula powder, and unopened sealed baby food. Pack these in a clear plastic bag so they're ready for inspection.

Dress Code

  • Spandex or spandex-type fabric clothing
  • Transparent or translucent garments
  • Sleeveless shirts and blouses
  • Dresses or clothing that exposes a bare chest or midriff
  • Camouflage attire
  • Worn or tattered clothing
  • Bandanas
  • Excessive jewelry
  • Flip flops
  • Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes
  • Shower shoes

Note: Wardens or superintendents can further define (and tighten) attire requirements at each facility.

Planning to use the vending machines? The facility uses a debit-card system. You'll need to purchase or reload your vending card in the lobby before entering the visitation area.

Reminder: Smoking or vaping of any kind is not allowed on state property.
