The New Iowa Mail System for Mount Pleasant: Using Pigeonly (Facility code 1113)

Iowa DOC routes all incoming non-legal mail through a central processing facility to curb contraband. This means letters and other non-legal mail go to a PO Box in Las Vegas - not directly to the prison. Send it straight to the facility and it'll bounce back to you. Use the central address with the required identifying details, and your mail will get through.

When your mail arrives at the processor, Pigeonly opens it and scans everything into a digital color copy. That copy gets printed and delivered to the appropriate Iowa DOC facility. Your loved one receives a printed version - not your original envelope and pages.

Note: Originals aren’t returned to you. After processing, they’re temporarily stored and then securely destroyed under Iowa DOC policy.
